Welcome to English 10 at Grundy Center High School!
Hello! My name is Ellen Wagner, and I am a third year English teacher. I graduated with a degree in English Education and Theater from the University of Iowa (GO HAWKS!!). For the past two years, I have been teaching English 9 and 10 and two senior elective classes (Career English and World Literature) at Gladbrook-Reinbeck. Last year I also took on the role of Drama Director at G-R, and this year I am sharing my time as the English 9-10 teacher/drama director/speech coach at GR and the English 10 teacher at Grundy Center.
I absolutely love teaching. I am working hard to make everything we do relevant and rigorous. I expect a lot of myself as a teacher, and I want you all to have the reading and writings kills necessary to go to college (preferably to the University of Iowa). I am psyched to be teaching in a 1:1 environment, and look forward to all the challenges and successes the year surely has in store for us.
Moreover, I am excited to be here and to get to know all of you. Having lived in the community for 2 years, I am looking forward to getting to know more of the parents and students of the Grundy Center District.
